Male art from the heart

Mark Garretts Night Moves is part of an all-male art exhibition in Kyogle.

The Roxy Gallery in Kyogle is currently exhibiting a hearty selection of artworks with over a dozen local male exhibitors creating a show aptly titled He-Art.

Within this body of work there is a great cross section of creative skills. Some of the artists work primarily in recycled metal, producing sculptural pieces that will intrigue the onlooker, while some artists work with recycled paper.

He-Art is a tribute to local male artistic talent.

The official opening is this Friday, February 16, from 6-8pm. Everyone is welcome to attend and talk to the artists on the evening.

He-Art runs until March 3.

Rosanna has designs on female taboo

Artist Rosanna Pimm uses 3500 porcelain tampons to created her large scale performance installation Riots of Passage in The Quad as part of The Lismore Women's Festival on International Women's Day. Laying down and de-constructing the mandala structure symbolises the impermanence of the menstrual cycle and an end to female inequality in the world.
