Sing a Posie

Next Thursday, February 15, the Bangalow A&I Hall will fill with the music of Jon Auer. Jon is the singer, songwriter and guitarist with the bands The Posies and Big Star.

Jon will showcase the very personal songs from his debut solo album Songs from the Year of Our Demise. Being one half of The Posies songwriting team, Jons solo work has that melancholic tone with an added revealing personal edge to the lyrics.

And of course, his trademark melodic skills.

This will be Jons fourth trip to this wide, waterless land, but his first as a soloist. And hes an accomplished sound engineer he was responsible for mixing the You Am I album Hi Fi Way.

Supporting Jon will be Laura Imbruglia who has been getting some pretty hot reviews for her debut album.

Tickets are $30/25 pre-paid or $35/30 at the door. Tickets are available from Barebones Artspace in Bangalow, The Urban Cafe in Bangalow, Michaels Guitar Studio in Mullumbimby, Mullumbimby Bookshop, Murwillumbah Music and All Music and Vision stores in Ballina, Lismore and Byron.

Freebie: The Echo has a double pass to this show to give away to some lucky reader. To go in the draw to win phone 6622 2888 between 10.30am-10.45am next Monday, February 12, and tell us if The Posies are a) American, b) Canadian, or C) British?
