Tim chooses Emma

Tim Olsen, director of Tim Olsen Galleries in Sydney, has selected local artist Emma Walker to be featured as his Curators Choice this month on the Visual Arts Network (VAN) website. This website is a virtual gallery supporting the large numbers of visual artists on the North Coast.

You can visit the website at www.visualartsnetwork.net.au.

As well as selecting her for the VAN website, Tim has also taken on Emma as part of his exclusive stable (a stable?) of artists and will exhibit her work in a solo show at the Paddington gallery this April.

Emma uses layers of paint, abstract forms and a limited palette to explore the connections between landscape, memory and the subconscious, said Tim. There is a certain drama in her work, an extreme play of light and dark in the landscape which adds a dreamlike dimension to her paintings.
