A womans ball

DJ Jackie Onassid is part of the swanky entertainment for The Tuxes and Tiaras Womens Ball to be held in Bangalow soon.

Bangalow, sweet Bangalow. How many festivals and events can one small town have? Answer: heaps! I suppose thats because its between Byron and Lismore and central to a lot of North Coast activity. And, unlike Byron, you can get a park there. (And a burger under $15.)

On Saturday, February 10, Lipstick Productions is putting on The Tuxes and Tiaras Womens Ball a classy evening for all women irrespective of sexuality. The night will be hosted by Two Frocks with performances by Paige Ridgeway (what a voice), Gina Baker, The Gangstars (from Brisbane) and DJ Jackie Onassid.

The venue is the Bangalow Bowling Club (on the main drag at the eastern end of town).

Theres also prizes for the best dressed.

The ball is a fundraiser for the Romero Centre in Queensland. This centre gives support to refugees on temporary protection visas and their families. Proceeds from this gig will go to funding a playgroup for newly arrived women and children refugees from Afghanistan. Good cause.

Tickets are $25 pre-sold or $30 at the door. Theyre available from Caddies Coffee in Lismore, Happy High Herbs in Byron and at Artizanoo in Ballina.

For more info phone 0416 953 7811 or email lipstickproductions1@hotmail.com.

Now, being a ball, the dress code is formal. And formal means evening gowns (with tiaras) for the ladies and tuxes for the, um, ladies.

The sophisticated revelry starts at 8pm and goes through to 2.30am.
