Caring for textiles

Diana Collins will give an informal presentation on the care and management of textiles in small collections at the Richmond River Historical Society Regional Museum at 165 Molesworth Street, Lismore, next Monday, January 22, from 4-6pm.

Diana has conducted a textile conservation practice in Hong Kong since 1986 and is visiting family in Lismore. Shell examine major environmental hazards, the handling and storage of textiles and approaches to the treatment of damaged textiles.

Shell use the textile items in the museum as examples of the points being made. Afterwards theres time for some serious Q&A.
