Get money for the road

MusicNSW, with the assistance of Arts NSW, has opened round two of the Regional Touring Grant Program. Grants of up to $5000 (hooray!) are available to professional NSW bands and musicians to help fund the regional NSW component of their tours.

A MusicNSW Regional Touring Grant cant help fund the costs of hitting roos, losing drummers or getting lost on some back-road short-cut.What it can do is help cover normal touring costs like accommodation, airfares, promotion, vehicle and equipment hire stuff like that.

Application forms and guidelines are available from MusicNSW by visiting www.musicnsw. Or email phone 9699 9706.

Applications close on March 31 and are open to all contemporary musicians and bands who are permanent residents of NSW. Tours can happen any time between May 2007 and February 2008.

Rosanna has designs on female taboo

Artist Rosanna Pimm uses 3500 porcelain tampons to created her large scale performance installation Riots of Passage in The Quad as part of The Lismore Women's Festival on International Women's Day. Laying down and de-constructing the mandala structure symbolises the impermanence of the menstrual cycle and an end to female inequality in the world.
