Fly on the new wall at Nimbin

Lordz of the Fly will rap up the Nimbin Hotel this Friday.

While most of us were making merry and New Year resolutions, the Nimbin Pub was having a makeover. The entertainment room now has air-conditioning and is a smoke-free venue. (In Nimbin?! Is this possible?) Apparently the band can be seen now without peering through a curtain of smoke. Cool. And healthy.

The Nimbin Pub will be featuring some top acts as they tour the region throughout the next few months acts like Lordz of the Fly, wholl generate some hip hop heat in the new smoke-free room this Friday, January 19, from 7.30pm.

Lordz of the Fly are MCs Big Buxx (he wishes) and Rudy Jackson. They released their debut EP Lordz of the Fly EP in late 2004 and that EP made them an important act in a category they are rebelling against Australian hip hop. Now theyre tearing down the musical boundaries of Oz hop with their new recording their debut long-player Symptomatic.

Rubys vocal talents have earned her tours with Christine Anu (nationally) and Danielle Spencer (USA). That voice combined with Big Buxxs rhythmic talents and tongue in cheek humour has seen Lordz of the Fly support international artists over the last two years like Hazadus (NZ), DJ Shortcut and dj wHat?! (very funny punctuation, dude), and DJ Revolution to name but a few.

They even played Jakarta and Bali in Indonesia, and Japan. Hip hop is the universal language, man.

Check em out in the new room at the Nimbin Pub. Breathe deep. Safely.
