Ballinas big Australia Day bash

Family fun, including a kids fishing competition with over $1000 worth of prizes, will be the focus of Australia Day celebrations hosted by the Ballina RSL Club.

The fishing comp is open to kids five to 16, and runs from 12.30 to 4pm. Any kids who want to enter should visit, grab an entry form, and bring it along with their $2 entry fee on the day.

The celebrations kick off at 10am on Australia Day with bingo and a free morning tea at the club. From 2pm theres plenty for the kids to do with face painting, colouring-in competitions and clowns in the Riverside Lounge.

There will also be live entertainment, a BBQ and more kids activities in Fawcett Park during the day, while a massive fireworks display at 8.30pm will light up the night sky.

The Ballina RSL is also presenting a free concert in the Riverside Lounge at 9.15pm, where well-known performer Lisa Hunt will get people grooving the night away.

For more information on any of the activities phone the Ballina RSL Club on 6686 2544.
