Happy screening

One penguin (voiced by Hugh Jackman) not so subtly woos his chick (Nicole Kidman) in a scene from Happy Feet. There will be a special screening of this animation for the whales. (No really.)

Therell be a special screening of the animated comedy adventure Happy Feet in Byron Bay next Thursday, January 18, to raise funds for Southern Cross Universitys Whale Research Centre.

The screening, at Byron Cinemas, will be attended by Howard and Rosy Whelan, of Whelan Productions, who co-ordinated much of the photographic work for the film.

Author Di Morrisey, patron of the Centre, will also be there. Hooray!

Happy Feet is set in Antarctica you know that great southern land around which is a great southern whale sanctuary in which the Japanese slaughter great whales. (For the whales own good, of course.)

The film features the voices of Elijah Wood, Robin Williams, Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman.

This special screening of Happy Feet will be held at 6.30pm next Thursday, January 18, at Byron Cinemas. Tickets are $12.50/10 and on sale at Byron Cinemas.
