Funny fest for February

Stand-up comedian and world traveller Greg Fleet will be one of three comedy panelists discussing travel and life on the first night of the Big Joke comedy festival in Bangalow soon.

This is the first year of The Big Joke and festival director Mandy Nolan sees it as the start of something big.

Im a big girl who believes in starting small. A comedy festival should be built with careful consideration of the spirit of the community, she said. We want to have maximum enjoyment with minimal impact. Its the people who live here that we see as our potential audience. We

want to make laugh with all of you.

On day one (Friday, February 9) therell be a panel discussion on travel called Tripping Out where Jonathon Atherton, Greg Fleet, Dave Callan and Mandy Nolan (as MC) will confront the vagaries of travel. What should you take? Are drugs allowed? Is it better to travel alone?

Artist Rosanna Pimm uses 3500 porcelain tampons to created her large scale performance installation Riots of Passage in The Quad as part of The Lismore Women's Festival on International Women's Day.
