Aussie Battlers 07

Australia Day celebrations usually involve barbecues and beer, but why not try something different this year and check out the breakdancing down at the Lismore PCYC.

The Choppers Aussie Battlers is presented by NORPA Dance Action, and this annual event is a chance to get a dose of hip hop culture, phat beats, breakdancing, hip hop dance, DJs, MCs (rap/rhyme) and open mic. Or find out what any of this actually means.

There will be interstate guest judges who will wow the audience with their highly skilled routines and multiple DJs will demonstrate a friendly DJ battle.

Get a group of friends together to enter a battle, create a dance or a rhyme, go solo, or just go along for a fun day out. MCs who dont want to battle can enter the new category Hip Hop Song where they can showcase their material and win awesome prizes.

Contact the Creative Peoples Collective on 6621 5776 or email for more information and registration forms (which need signing by a parent/guardian if under 16). The deadline for registrations is Tuesday, January 23.
