Winsome Jodi

Jodi Martin is coming back to Lismore! Hooray! For only one show. Sniff. See her this Saturday.

Though she currently lives in Montreal, Canada (where shes recording her new album), Jodi Martin came out to this wide, climate-changed land to perform at the Woodford Folk Festival. After successful gigs there (I saw one of her shows) she is doing a show in Lismore where she has many friends having lived there for some years and having recorded her album 15 Minutes Out to Sea in the area.

I have a special connection and personal history with the North Coast and I cantdo a whirlwind trip home without doing a show in Lismore and catching up with everyone... sharing the latest stories and songs, Jodi said.

Shell play the Winsome Hotel in Lismore this Saturday, January 6, with her band featuring Dan Brown. The night will kick off with the one-man band of Juzzie Smith.

Jodi very smoothly interweaves her folky, rootsy pop with clever tales that can be both moving and funny.

The show starts at 9pm and $10 gets you in.

Rosanna has designs on female taboo

Artist Rosanna Pimm uses 3500 porcelain tampons to created her large scale performance installation Riots of Passage in The Quad as part of The Lismore Women's Festival on International Women's Day. Laying down and de-constructing the mandala structure symbolises the impermanence of the menstrual cycle and an end to female inequality in the world.
