Nominate a Ballina super-star

Ballina Shire Council is calling for nominations for its annual Australia Day Awards, which recognise those in the community who make the shire a special place to live.

Councils event co-ordinator Kerry Greedy said the award categories were: citizen of the year (over 21 years of age), young citizen of the year (under 21), sportsperson of the year, community event of the year and volunteer of the year.

Nomination forms are available at Councils office, the Visitor Information Centre or can be downloaded from Councils website at Nominations must be received by 4pm on Wednesday, January 10.

Laying down and de-constructing the mandala structure symbolises the impermanence of the menstrual cycle and an end to female inequality in the world.
