Rippin into the surf

Last weekend Lennox Head beach was one of 60 beaches around Australia which took part in this years Rip Curl Girls Go Surfing Day female surfing program.

The program, now in its 16th year, is one of the worlds leading surfing promotions, actively encouraging female beginners and non-surfers to take part in customised learn to surf lessons.

The weekend event is held right across coastal Australia and focuses on promoting fun and participation in a supportive and professional environment.

Rosanna has designs on female taboo

Artist Rosanna Pimm uses 3500 porcelain tampons to created her large scale performance installation  Riots of Passage in The Quad  as part of The Lismore Women's Festival on International Women's Day. Laying down and de-constructing the mandala structure symbolises the impermanence of the menstrual cycle and an end to female inequality in the world.
