Worrying warnings

I have just come home from watching the movie by Al Gore on global warming, The Inconvenient Truth. While there are many who want to say it is not fact and things are not as bad as he says, everyone should see the film and hear some of the information. I found it very compelling and even if only half the predictions are true we have a lot to be concerned about.

As I think of these issues there are two things that come to mind. The first is that I have grandchildren growing up who will feel the force of this change far more than I ever will and what I am leaving them a huge battle. Secondly, that so much of the problem is the result of greed from individuals and nations. We seem as individuals and nations to want to go on developing our economy and wealth, but we have lost sight of the effect of all this on the environment. Combined with an exploding world population the consequences could be massive. As I pondered all this, and fishing, I thought the outlook is not good. The pressure of a massive world population on fish stocks does not paint a good picture.
