Rotary BBQ feeds Helicopter funds

After putting in over 1000 volunteer man hours and selling hundreds upon hundreds of snags at the Lismore 4WD Caravan & Camping Show, the Rotary Club of Lismore West has donated $8000 to the Life Saver Rescue Helicopter.

The Rotary Club of Lismore West does the catering at the 4WD Show every July, ably assisted by the Rotary Club of Lismore (its parent club).

Handing over the proceeds at a presentation recently were (l-r) the clubs community services director Ian Mulligan, club president Gary Frith, Nyree Epplett-Higgins from the Life Saver Rescue Helicopter, club president Robyn Riordan (Rotary Club of Lismore), and catering organiser Merv Bryant.

Artist Rosanna Pimm uses 3500 porcelain tampons to created her large scale performance installation  Riots of Passage in The Quad  as part of The Lismore Women's Festival on International Women's Day. Laying down and de-constructing the mandala structure symbolises the impermanence of the menstrual cycle and an end to female inequality in the world.
