Wollongbar fashion on show

Costume-design students at Wollongbar TAFE will showcase their latest works at a free function in Byron Bay next Thursday, November 23.

The certificate IV costume graduates will present The Salon Show Costume 2006, which they describe as a kaleidoscope of imaginative costume designs inspired by art, transformation and 18th century gowns.

The Salon Show Costume 2006 is being held at The Buddha Bar in the Arts Factory Village in Byron Bay from 6pm.

Artist Rosanna Pimm uses 3500 porcelain tampons to created her large scale performance installation  Riots of Passage in The Quad  as part of The Lismore Women's Festival on International Women's Day. Laying down and de-constructing the mandala structure symbolises the impermanence of the menstrual cycle and an end to female inequality in the world.
