Thank God hes here... soon

Egyptian-born Akmal Saleh has been to Lismore before he featured quite a few times at the infamous Laughing Lizard Comedy Club and he was jaw-achingly funny. Since those days hes become a household name (though my household isnt called Akmal) with regular appearances on Rove Live, The Glass House and Thank God Youre Here.

Akmal will deliver his new comedy show, tackling topics such as the Cronulla race riots, Pope Benedict XVI and reality shows at the Star Court Theatre in Lismore on Saturday, November 25, at 8pm.

Akmal will be joined by fellow comedian Joel Ozborn. Tickets are $29.90/26.90 from the Northern Rivers Ticket Centre on 6621 5600.

Akmal Saleh (the big one) will bring his wacky observations of Australian life to Lismore soon. Hell be supported by Joel Ozborn (the little fella).

Rosanna has designs on female taboo

Artist Rosanna Pimm uses 3500 porcelain tampons to created her large scale performance installation Riots of Passage in The Quad as part of The Lismore Women's Festival on International Women's Day. Laying down and de-constructing the mandala structure symbolises the impermanence of the menstrual cycle and an end to female inequality in the world.
