Fine art auction

More than 50 paintings by local artists will be put up for auction in Ballina this weekend to raise money for equipment at Ballina Hospitals X-Ray unit and the Biala Special School.

The fine art auction, organised by the Ballina on Richmond Rotary Club and the Cowdisley Education Group, will be held this Sunday afternoon, November 19, at 1.30pm in the Richmond Room behind the Ballina Library.

Aussie bush poet Ray Essery (the Mullumbimby Bloke) will be auctioneer and MC.

Centrepieces of the auction will be two large historical paintings of late 19th century Ballina scenes by international and local artist John Hagan.

Artists wishing to contribute their paintings of local scenes to the auction can phone 0422 430 539.
