Cows with guns to save trees

Dana Lyons is taking aim at those who log the worlds temperate rainforests. Hes performing on the North Coast soon.

Ten years ago singer and activist Dana Lyons had a worldwide hit with his song Cows With Guns. This time around hes touring the world raising awareness of the threat to the worlds temperate rainforests.

Dana will perform at Coorabell Hall on Friday, November 24, and at The Channon Hall on Saturday, November 25. Both gigs start at 7.30pm. Food and drinks are available.

Both nights will feature Dana Lyons, a slideshow presentation by rainforest activist Pat Rasmussen, and those purveyors of conscious groove The Blissmongers. (Friday nights gig will also feature Mystic Beats.)

Tickets are $12/10 at the door.

Artist Rosanna Pimm uses 3500 porcelain tampons to created her large scale performance installation  Riots of Passage in The Quad  as part of The Lismore Women's Festival on International Women's Day. Laying down and de-constructing the mandala structure symbolises the impermanence of the menstrual cycle and an end to female inequality in the world.
