The sixth annual Corey New Cup between Football FNC premier league clubs Lismore Workers and Goonellabah will be held at Weston Park this Sunday, February 26.

The match is in memory of Corey New, a popular junior player with both clubs who was involved in the tragic road accident that claimed the lives of four Goonellabah teenagers at Broken Head in 2006.

The two clubs keep alive Corey's positive virtues through the annual fixture and will use the match as part of their preparation for next week's opening round of the pre-season Tursa Anzac Cup.

Both coaches, Workers' Scott Collis and the Hornets' Mark Ambler, have new-look sides after losing numerous players from last year's squads. But both have also recruited well, with plenty of new signings likely to get a run.

The premier game kicks off at 5.30pm following the reserves at 3.30pm.

All profits from the canteen and BBQ will be shared between the two club's junior ranks, along with the proceeds from a raffle for a signed Melbourne Heart shirt, thanks to the involvement of John Aloisi.
