Pauline Ahern prepares for the Hawaiian shirt competition at the Nimbin Pool Olympics.

The town of Nimbin is already famous for the unusual sport of bong throwing, and now the Friends of the Nimbin Pool are looking to make noodle hockey one of the watery sports of the future.

On Saturday, February 25, at 3pm the Nimbin Pool Olympics will be held at the local Nimbin pool and everyone is invited to come along, enter into the fun and help raise funds to embellish the facilities. There will be three-legged races, relays in clothes, duck diving for treasure and the teams for the synchronised swimming competition are already rehearsing their moves.

Wear your Hawaiian shirt and be ready to join the Olympic parade because first prize for best dressed will be a ukulele. Entry to the Olympic events is $2 and there are prizes galore. The barbeque will be sizzling with sausages and the teapot, cakes and coffee will be ready for an afternoon of fun, friendship and solidarity with the pool.
