Beat it, don't eat it!

If you want to do something about your health and fitness but don't know where to start, Mark Roberts might tell you to ‘Beat It'.

Fitness instructor Mark Roberts is ready to help you Beat It.

If you want to do something about your health and fitness but don't know where to start, Mark Roberts might tell you to 'Beat It'.

That's the name of the 12-week program developed by the Australian Diabetes Council that Mark will be running from the end of March.

"Sometimes when you're struggling with your weight, or have health complications like diabetes, heart disease, obesity, high blood pressure, arthritis or osteoporosis, it can feel difficult to know where to start and how to get active," Mark said. "Beat It can help get your health back on track, and is also a fun program for anybody just looking to get active."

The program is part of Lismore City Council's Healthy Communities Initiative, which received funding from the federal government late last year.

"The project will include locally delivered initiatives designed to encourage and support active lifestyles and reduce barriers to healthy choices," Council's community services co-ordinator Annie McWilliam said.

Mark will tailor a program for each person that is appropriate for their condition and will help them achieve their goals.

He is holding an information evening about the program at Dunoon Hall on Wednesday, March 7, from 6.30pm.

For more information phone Mark on 0419 831 424.
