Sue Fraser from Alstonville has won a major prize with this scupture The Ones That Got Away.
Alstonville artist Sue Fraser has won the three dimensional works category of the annual Woollam Waltzing Matilda Outback Art Show – Australia’s best known art competition with an outback focus.
Judge Metka Skrobar described Sue’s sculpture The Ones That Got Away as outstanding and “beautifully constructed with immediate appeal”.
The entry reflects the 2011 competition theme of ‘Droughts and flooding rains’ and is now on display at the Outback Regional Gallery within the modern interactive Waltzing Matilda Centre at Winton. Together with other winners and selected pieces, Sue’s work will be exhibited until June 24.
Congratulations Sue.
