Those hard working activists from Keerrong, the Keerrong Gas Squad, will be letting their hair down and kicking their heels up for a fundraising “shindig” at the Keerrong Hall on Saturday night, May 14.

There will be live entertainment from Ruthie-Ma-Toothie and the Gawdy Boardy Boys as well as sack races, a bonfire, barbecue and raffles.

The emphasis is on fun as well as fundraising and a gold coin donation will get you in. It kicks off from 5pm.

Meanwhile, further north at Murwillumbah, the Northern Rivers Guardians and Caldera Environment Centre are hosting a united community gathering against coal seam gas mining. Speakers include Drew Hutton, president of the Lock the Gate Alliance, and new Greens MLC Jeremy Buckingham.

The gathering is at Knox Park from 11am.
