Liz Stringer.
Van Walker and Liz Stringer are two of Melbourne’s most prolific and respected young songwriters. Van has just released a new album called Bush League Bard (his fifth in just three years!) and continues his merry dance across the country, playing in bars and telling stories about playing in bars in that great gypsy/journeyman tradition.
Somebody once wrote that “if Bob Dylan was born 20 years later and fraternised in Collingwood bars, he would sound like this”. Yep.
Liz Stringer has just released her third album (slacker) Tides of Time, which has been getting high praise from reviewers and other musicians everywhere for her voice like “melted chocolate” and “prodigious command of the steel-string guitar and banjo”.
Van and Liz will both be playing solo and will no doubt join each other on stage when they hit the Lennox Point Hotel next Thursday, September 16, from 9pm.
