In the new Zonta Room are (l-r) nurse unit manager Brad Mills, Scope member Chris Smith and Zonta president Rosalie Kennedy.
The Zonta Club of Northern Rivers was extremely grateful to the Ballina Scope Club this week after the group gave the Zonta Room in the Women’s Care Unit at Lismore Base Hospital a welcome facelift.
The room was established in 2007 with bedding and other essential items supplied by the Zonta members through fundraising events and the Scope Club has now provided new curtains, a quilt cover and accessories. A new lick of paint was also donated by Ian Meade.
The Zonta Room is used by families who have experienced miscarriages, still birth or sudden death of a baby. Both parents can be accommodated in privacy and comfort with access to medical assistance from the staff and counselling from a social worker.
