Out Sounds from the Inner Id will be the first of a series of gigs featuring an eclectic assortment of musicians, including many of those who performed in last year’s VeryAbility festival.

The event will feature several people involved with the support service RED Inc, both clients and staff, and the aim is to make going and seeing (or making) live music something that is accessible to everyone.

First up will be Snug, an outfit formed around the songwriting talents of Paul Schulz, with Michael White on keys, Rohan Langford on violin and pedals, and they say you’ll just have to wait and see who’s on the drums.

Then there is Poetaster, a mixture of post avant-garde music and spoken word.

Siameze Whiskers is the brainchild of Professor Blix, who will amaze and delight with a mix of loops and sounds. You may even see the professor doing his peculiar live editing with his feet, which makes him look like a cross between a tap dancing organ grinder and his monkey.

Also on the bill are Ruthie Ma Toothie and Bandwaggin Jammin.

Out Sounds from the Inner Id is on at the Checker Room, which is downstairs at the Italo Club, on Friday, September 10, from 6pm. People with specific support needs will need to provide their own support. Entry is only five tax deductible dollars, with people under 14 getting in for free.
