Kindergarten kids from Casino Christian School.
Children from Casino Christian School helped launch Richmond Valley Council’s new fortnightly recycling service on Tuesday – a move that’s designed to reduce landfill and save on energy and water use.
Residents have been given brand new yellow-lidded recycling bins and this week the first pick-up service began in Casino. For Evans Head, Broadwater, Woodburn and Coraki, the new recycling service will commence next week.
This means households can now easily recycle newspaper and cardboard, cans, glass bottles and jars, and plastics.
Residents are asked to put out their new recycling bin the night before their usual garbage service with their garbage bin, on the appropriate week of commencement for their area.
People with questions should refer to their Guide to Your New Recycling Service Information brochure that will be delivered with the new yellow-lidded recycling bins or phone Richmond Valley Council’s Waste Hotline on 6660 0350.
