A 13-year-old boy had to be winched into the rescue helicopter as it hovered 30 metres above a popular swimming hole at Whian Whian last Saturday.
The boy, from Dunoon, lost his footing while jumping off rocks and suffered scratches, facial injuries and concussion from the fall.
The boy was unconscious and taken from the water and an ambulance was called. But because of the difficult access, ambulance officers decided it would be too difficult to carry him out so the Rescue Helicopter was called. He was then moved to a safe winching location above the waterhole.
The boy was admitted to Lismore Base Hospital and later discharged.
