AUSTRALIAN No.13 seed Samantha Stosur advanced to the last 32 of the Australian Open on Thursday with a 7-5 6-3 victory over Germany's Kristina Barrois.
Stosur went down a break early in the second set, but got back on level terms straight away.
She then broke Barrois's serve again in the eighth game.
The Australian will play either German No.21 seed Sabine Lisicki or Alberta Brianti of Italy in the third round.
"I'm really pleased with today, I thought I played pretty well," said Stosur, after the match which lasted for 84 minutes on Rod Laver Arena.
"I'm feeling pretty good and I'm really happy with the way I'm hitting it."
