BLUESFEST will come of age at Easter at its new Tyagarah Tea Tree farm home with some of the biggest names in blues and rock.
The John Butler Trio, Taj Mahal, 10cc, John Mayall, Matisyahu, Angus and Julia Stone and Rodrigues will now join the bill along with Crowded House, Buddy Guy, Gipsy Kings, Buena Vista Social Club, and Lyle Lovett.
Festival director Peter Noble said 2010 would be one of the best Bluesfest bills ever.
“You can’t have your 21st without having a line-up that is on par with your best-ever bill,” Mr Noble said.
Organisers are promising a festival that is not only entertaining, but environmentally responsible too.
In September Bluesfest was announced as one of 13 winners of the international Greener Festival Award.
The new venue will be able to accommodate more than three times the number of campers than the old venue at Belongil Fields.
Organisers have said the festival would have more of everything.
“More space, more stalls, more areas to chill out,” Mr Noble said.
However, it would retain its peaceful, relaxed atmosphere, he said.
Other festival highlights will be The Fray, Bebel Gilberto, Jon Cleary and the Absolute Monster Gentlemen, Jools Holland and his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra, Ross Wilson’s Five Decades of Cool, The Swell Season, Dr John and the Lower 911, and Bella Fleck’s African Project.
Tickets are on sale. Visit www.bluefest.com.au.
