ALL was revealed at Parramatta Stadium yesterday when the wraps finally came off new A-League club, the Western Sydney Wanderers.

Not only was the name confirmed, after it was leaked via the league's own website last week in a preview of the new season, but the first three players to sign, the club logo and playing kit were also unveiled.

The playing shirt is similar in style to one worn by Brazilian giants Flamengo with red and black horizontal stripes, along with white shorts and black socks.

Joining the Wanderers as coach Tony Popovic's first signings are Aaron Mooy, Tarek Elrich and Kwabena Appiah-Kubi.

Mooy joins the club on his return to Australia after three years in the UK where the attacking midfielder spent time with Bolton Wanderers as a youth player, and two years with Scottish club St Mirren.

Elrich spent six years with the Newcastle Jets, while Appiah-Kubi is a state league player.

The Wanderers open their campaign with a home game against the Central Coast Mariners at Parramatta Stadium on October 6.

Club chairman Lyall Gorman said the announcement was a landmark occasion for western Sydney and for Australian sport.

"The arrival of the Wanderers in the A-League is a truly monumental event," said Gorman.

"The sons and daughters of western Sydney's rich football heritage will get to represent their region on the national stage and beyond."
