GIRLS all over the world want to be her. And boys across the globe want to date her.

But US TV teen queen Victoria Justice, from the hit Nickelodeon show Victorious, hasn't let her success go to her head.

The 19-year-old singer, dancer and actor, says she doesn't take herself too seriously and likes to keep life light and bubbly.

Victorious - Nickelodeon - Monday at 4pm Qld, 5pm NSW.

On her recent trip to Australia, the young star had a candid chat with The Guide about fame, fortune and being a role model.

The Hollywood star said she stayed true to herself and grounded thanks to the support and love of her family and friends.

She said she didn't imagine she would have her own TV show, walk the red carpet or work with the people who inspired her to get into showbusiness.

"I think I hoped my career would be somewhat successful," she said.

"I feel so lucky. Having my own show on Nickelodeon is such a dream come true."

Justice said she knew being in the spotlight meant she had a big responsibility to be a positive role model for young girls. She did not take this lightly.

"It's really cool and a really special thing," she said.

"Girls need to have people who inspire them and give them dreams and goals. When I was little I had those role models (in) Amanda Bynes and Hilary Duff. And now I am one of those people."

Staying in touch with more than 3.5 million Twitter fans was very important to her.

"I like to share things that are funny," she said.

The young talent said she posted a lot of photographs, especially of her travels around the world.

Late last year Justice had her first break-out lead role in a feature film for Paramount's Fun Size, alongside Chelsea Handler and Johnny Knoxville.

She said the film was fun and she hoped to be involved in more, as well as continue to work with the "amazing cast and crew" of Victorious.

Justice has also made plenty of guest appearances on Nickelodeon hits shows True Jackson, VP, iCarly and The Troop.

Series three of the Emmy-nominated sitcom Victorious is set to air this month with Tori Vega and the gang ready for some more crazy adventures.

"I love the music in (Victorious) and (my) character.

"There are some fun performances and great songs.

"It definitely is fun - we all get on super well - we have a good time."

After becoming interested in acting when she was eight years old, Justice relocated to Hollywood with her family and was accepted into the musical theatre program at Los Angeles Millikan Performing Arts Academy.

She began appearing in commercials for companies such as Ralph Lauren, Gap and Guess, before making her series acting debut in an episode of The Gilmore Girls and continued to pop up in a number of TV shows and films.

Showcasing her vocal abilities in 2007, Justice released a promotional single, a cover of the Vanessa Carlton song A Thousand Miles.

In 2009, Victoria guest starred on an episode of Nickelodeon's series The Naked Brothers Band and later starred in the Nickelodeon musical special, Spectacular with Australia's own Tammin Sursok.

The talented starlet landed her own Nickelodeon series in 2010, created especially for her by Nick hit-maker Dan Schneider.

Nickelodeon is airing a Victorious marathon starting on Monday, running week days through to January 25.

Series 3 premieres on Friday January 18 at 4.30pm Qld, 5.30pm NSW.
