Recognising leadership potential

Kyogle High School Student Lowana Davies has her sights set high when it comes to being a female leader.

She wants to contribute to the creation of more gender equality in the world.

Which probably helped her get selected, along with 50 other Year 11 female students from NSW, ACT and Victoria, for the Swiss financial institution UBS Young Women's Leadership Academy.

Lowana went to Sydney for the week-long program, which involved self- discovery and personality testing, leadership talks, debating, and a tour of the Archibald Exhibition at NSW Art Gallery.

"I was surprised that I was selected. I feel really honoured," she said.

Erica Borgelt from UBS said the people selected were chosen because they displayed leadership potential.
