Pre-Christmas briefing

This weekend, on Saturday, December 1, the Lismore Makers Markets return to the grounds of the Northern Rivers Conservatorium with a Christmas Market. Stallholders have a policy of selling unique, eco-ethical artefacts made from pre-loved materials such as old vinyl records, discarded fabric, retro linen, silverware and old books. If you're out of town this weekend, the markets are happening again on Saturday, December 15. And if you can't find the quirky, inventive kind of gift you're looking for, buy a $25 or $50 gift voucher.

Also this Saturday, December 1, Kyogle Chamber of Commerce is throwing a pre-Christmas community celebration, opening up the town with old-fashioned hospitality. The main street will host a bustling Bazaar and farmer's market from 8am for dedicated shoppers and gourmets, with a free sausage sizzle for the less fussy. The town crier will announce music, dancing, face-painting, fairies and a visit by Santa to keep the grommets busy after 1pm, down at the ampitheatre.
