Nominations open for 2013 Woman of the Year

NOMINATIONS are open for the 2013 NSW Women of the Year Awards.

There are three categories; The Premier's Woman of the Year Award for leadership and excellence, The People's Choice Community Hero Award and a new award category, the Male Champion of Change recognises the role that men play in brokering change for women.

Nominations are invited from individuals, groups or organisations from across the community.

The winners will be announced at a reception hosted by the NSW Premier on Thursday, March 7, 2013 at Parliament House, on the eve of International Women's Day.

Nominations for the Local Woman of the Year can be sent to the office of Thomas George, Member for Lismore, either via email to lismore@parliament.nsw.gov.au or post to PO Box 52, Lismore by Friday, November 30.

Nominations for the other categories can be made at www.women.nsw.gov.au and close on Wednesday December 5, 2012.
