Book on death of the land
AUTHOR Sharon Munro travelled through rural Australia to coal-mining areas and "found a war zone." Dying towns and districts, homeowners and farmers forced out by mining and the coal seam gas (CSG) industry, alarming spikes in medical conditions in communities close to coal mines and power stations, and dried-up or polluted rivers, aquifers and bores. And still the mining companies push on. Now the Northern Rivers is under threat.
Sharon will be launching her book, Rich Land, Wasteland, at the Nimbin Environment Centre on Monday, September 17 at 6pm and at the Lismore City Library on Friday, September 21 at 5.15 for 5.30pm.
Books will be available to buy and get signed by the author.
