Korean win for Groth

BIG-HITTING Australian Sam Groth has downed top seed Frederik Nielsen from Denmark 6-7 (4) 6-4 6-1 to take out a Korean Futures tournament in Daegu.

Groth hit the headlines last week after sending down the unofficial fastest ever serve - a 263kmh rocket against Belarussian Uladzimir Ignatik in a challenger tournament in South Korea.

Meanwhile Monique Adamczak from New South Wales has been beaten in the final of the $50,000 Kurume Open played on grass in Japan.

Adamczak lost the final 7-5 6-2 to China's Saisai Zheng.

Matthew Ebden and Bernard Tomic were due to play their first round matches in the Nice Open overnight in the lead up to the French Open.
