Kerry O'Brien comes to Bangalow
Once dubbed "the thinking woman's crumpet", Kerry O'Brien has had a stunning career in the field of journalism.
He will be the guest speaker for the Friends of the ABC at Bangalow A&I Hall this Saturday, June 30, from 2pm.
Kerry will reflect on his 46-year career, working in print and for wire services and as a press secretary for Gough Whitlam before moving into television news and current affairs.
His address will touch on ABC history and the dramatic changes in politics and communications technology throughout his career.
There will be a Q&A session after the talk where you can ask Kerry all about how he keeps as cool as a cucumber during a heated exchange. There will also be a screening of three short entries for the finalists in the junior journalist competition, which Kerry will judge.
Entry is by suggested donation of $10 for adults and $5 concession.
