Grans hit the decks

Last month we told you about grans who were hitting the district skateparks to skate with their grandkids. Now, from the same funky town of Kyogle where it all began, we hear the grans have conquered the parks and now they're going to be spinning the turntables at the Kyogle skatepark next Saturday, June 30.

One gregarious gran, Glennys Heywood, said: "I love dance music, and my kids enjoy some of my 'old stuff'. Rest assured, I won't be playing any disco!""

Coordinated by Kyogle Youth Action, Grans on Decks will kick off at 1 pm and run until 3 pm.

The day will feature skating, music, and free food, with demos from pro skaters.
