CSG poll question

"DO you support coal seam gas (CSG) exploration and production in the Lismore City Council area?" That is the poll question that will be asked as part of the Lismore Council election in September.

SCU has been given the job of developing the yes/no case provided to voters, and will also be conducting exit polls to find out why people voted the way they did, for a PhD research project.

In supporting the motion for the poll Cr David Yarnall said "There has been a massive groundswell... this is the biggest issue facing this region in our time. This (poll) is the next piece of armour in the battle against CSG. The cost ($16,860) is small compared to the cost of CSG mining coming to this area."
