Community bowls event is on again
SOME great local rivalries will be reignited from November 13 when the second Evans Head Community Bowls competition kicks off at the Evans Head Bowling Club.
Back by popular demand after a highly successful event earlier this year, the event will see business groups from Evans Head go head-to-head for bowling "cred".
It is hoped last year's winners, The SPARklers, will be back to fight to the bowling-green death against IGA, Vinnies, The Drs, The Vacationers, The Medicators and The Respirators.
The aim of the competition is to unify different groups in the community, and it is open to any business or community group, males and females, bowlers and non-bowlers.
To save some embarrassment on opening night of the competition, a practice evening will be held on November 6.
The competition will run for five weeks, with a presentation night to be held on December 18.
On competition nights, players are to be at the club at 6.30pm. The cost will be $6 each night and includes bowls and a sausage sizzle.

Team nomination forms should be returned to Margaret at the club.
