A 15-year-old boy is lucky to be alive after crashing a car
A 15-year-old boy is lucky to be alive after crashing a car into a power pole in Kyogle on Saturday night.
The unlicensed driver of a 1997 maroon Ford Fairmont was heading south on the Summerland Way when he lost control of the vehicle, crashing into a power pole before ramming into a nearby business, Grahams Concrete.
The crash occurred near the corner of Craig St and the Summerland Way about 11.50pm.
The driver had been reported to the police for driving erratically prior to the crash.
The driver and a passenger, who is understood also to be young, were not on the scene when police responded to the emergency.
However, a 15-year-old suspected of being behind the wheel of the vehicle at the time of the crash later presented to Kyogle Memorial Hospital for treatment for non-life threatening injuries.
Police are investigating.
