PROPOSED CHANGES TO COUNCIL POLICIES Lismore City Council has resolved to provide ‘in principle’ support to amendments to its Rates and Charges Hardship Policy. The amended policy provides extensive detail on the financial hardship and pensioner concession provisions of the Local Government Act 1993 as well as Council processes for the assessment of eligibility. Sale of Land for Unpaid Rates and Charges Policy Lismore City Council has resolved to provide ‘in principle’ support to the introduction of the Sale of land for Unpaid Rates and Charges Policy. The basis for the policy is to ensure Council’s full compliance with the requirements of the Local Government Act 1993, and to clearly outline the process that Council will use to apply the policy. A copy of these amended policies are available at Council’s Corporate Office or CBD Office. Alternatively, a copy can be viewed by visiting Council’s website www.lismore.nsw.gov.au and selecting the ‘Have Your Say’ page.
